Arik Gilbert is a tight end for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and a former 5-star-recruit. A 5-star recruit is the highest-ranked recruit and only a few players get this. Arik has also played for the LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. Arik Gilbert is 6 ‘6 and 260 Ib, He’s 21 years old and went to Marietta High School in Georgia. He’s a five-star recruit who was the top-ranked tight end. Arik was caught on camera breaking into a liquor store stealing about $1,600 worth of things and damaging the liquor store. This incident happened on August 30, 2023.
Arik on surveillance footage showed him throwing a large cement block from the parking lot into the glass door of SJ’s liquor store around 2 a.m. He was later arrested and taken in with a bag of goods worth $1,672.07 and damage to the business was estimated at $650, police said. The bag contained stolen vape products, Delta 8, cigars, and lighters. Lancaster County court records did not indicate if Arik has an attorney who could be on his half.
Nebraska’s head coach Matt Rhule said “obviously really disappointed, really sad for him.” in response to the incident. He also said “When we took Arik, we knew we had good people to help us with issues he’s dealing with in his life and they were proud of the job he’s done in the spring and summer. We’re sad and disappointed for him and his family.” Math Rhule said this in an interview.
