Wendell and Wild

The movie Wendell and Wild takes place in the made up empty town of Rust Bank in Oregon. Where a 13 year-old Kat is returned back home five years after her parents had died in a fatal crash off a bridge. This experience leads her to finding out what she truly is and what she is capable of. This in turn raises two demon brothers, Wendell and Wild from hell, her parents, and a whole army of the undead. Leading Kat to soon have to face her biggest fear.

I personally think that Wendell and Wild is a great movie. It gives off the same vibes as Coraline, yet has its own twists and turns. They are similar, seeing as both have that flavor of horror and are not made for younger children. The drop of weirdness also shows primarily in both of these films, as their stories follow two young girls. Yet, despite their similarities they have many differences. Such as, Wendell and Wild’s story is completely different from that of the girl who ventures into “The Other World” and meets the “Other Mother.”

If I had to rate this movie I’d give it a 7/10. This is mainly because I believe it’s a good movie but not the best movie I’ve ever seen. The visuals and effects are wonderful, yet the story is a bit strange. Don’t get me wrong, the story is very good and easy to follow, yet something about it makes it feel a bit off. This is because the story doesn’t really impact me on a real emotional level. Yet that’s just my opinion. Besides that I feel the movie is great and I would definitely watch it again or recommend it to a friend.
