31,000 Ukrainian troops have been killed since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Zelenskyy says. KYIV, Ukraine (AP)- Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that roughly 31,000 soldiers have been killed in action in the two years of war. Most believe that this war is unfair knowing that Russia has 141,698,923 total military while Ukraine has 43,306,477.  The number of active soldiers is decreasing for both countries but the last update was 1,320,000 and 900,000. Russia has just been killing Ukrainian civilians but is now killing visitors, helpers, and people trying to end this war. As of February 8th, 2024, at least 52 United States citizens have been killed in this war. 

Ukraine is still holding onto their country, some believe they should let it go and give up to protect the people that are still alive, and others believe that Ukraine should hold on. On February 21st, Kramatorsk made it aware that Ukraine is running out of soldiers and ammunition to resist their Russian invaders. As they enter their 3rd main years of war. A lot of people think Russia is going to give up soon, most people believe that in 2022 it was predicted that Russia would run out of war supplies, such as tanks, bombs, and guns, in two or three years. Russia is at risk of running out of troops as the war wages on. Igor Girkin, writing from his prison cell, suggested that Russian forces are light on numbers and a “broad offense” is no longer planned for 2024. 

The impact of the Ukraine and Russia war has sent millions to be displaced in other countries, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds of medical and educational institutions have been damaged or destroyed, impacting Ukrainian’s rights to health and education. The long-term impact of this war will be felt for generations. No matter what happens now it’s going to end up with the Ukrainian people suffering. Let me ask you, is it over yet?
