Russia Strikes Again

Over 100 injured and 19 dead, Russia strikes the cities of Ukraine once again. The western city of Lviv was a victim of some of these strikes and it’s said that many other cities have been targeted as well. Despite the scare from these attacks and the recent destruction of Kerch Bridge. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuses to show signs of intimidation and instead reaches out to allies for help. This sparks up a meeting between U.S President Biden and Volodymyr as they discuss air defense weapons.

For the last eight years the Russo-Ukraine war has been going on. It first started back in 2014 on the 20th of February and was caused because Russia decided to try to take back the land that was “rightfully theirs.” This of course caused complications as Ukraine considered themselves as their own country and was not willing to give up their home so easily. Which soon produced the beginning of the eight year-long war that still has yet to show evidential signs of ending.

In terms of the early start of the war, loud buzzing from small destructible drones flew over the cities of Kyiv. An explosion, likely caused by these devices, first announcing its arrival at 7 a.m. and striking fear into the residents as it ended up killing close to four people.

This would strike the people in and around the city as a memorable day. Yet unfortunately this wasn’t the last they’d see of the attacks as just recently, missiles streaked from the skies and rained down upon the city and residents of Kyiv.

As of just last Monday another drone attack was announced. Luckily, citizens below were aware and prepared for these attacks to occur. This helped them to evacuate to safe areas and allow soldiers to shoot the drones down. Yet despite this, immense damage was still caused to the city of Kyiv and the mayor himself stood upon the rubble of a residential building that had been a victim of one of the explosions.
