Batman, America’s favorite non-Marvel superhero, with tons of money, gadgets, and an amazing Rogues Gallery, who doesn’t love Batman? Batman has been around for so long, making his debut in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. He’s been reinterpreted millions of times and coming 2022 a new Batman movie will be in theaters. Directed by Matt Reeves Starring Robert Pattinson as The Batman himself, and I have decided to do a quick recap of everything we know so far about this Batman movie.

First off, you may know that the movie was originally going to come out in 2021, and it was the perfect release day for a lot of reasons, it was gonna come out on October 1, 2021, but has been moved to March 4, 2022, it was the perfect release day because the movie was based on a Batman comic called “Batman: The Long Halloween.” Basically, the story of the Long Halloween is that there is a murder that happens in Gotham City and Batman has to figure out who did it and while trying to figure out who it was, he runs into some of his villains such as The Joker, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, The Penguin, The Mad Hatter, and Scarecrow, and the comic also retells Two-Faces origin. The story of The Batman 2022 is that famous people are getting murdered in Gotham by a mysterious individual who leaves letters addressed to Batman, the letters themselves have puzzles and questions in them (or in other words, Riddles) to test Batman.

Next, let’s talk about probably one of the best parts of Batman movies, the villains. This new Batman movie will have 7 villains appear in it, the main villain in this movie will be The Riddler, and the other villains that will appear are The Penguin, Catwoman, Carmine Falcone, The Mad Hatter, Two-Face, and Firefly. Now if you are not a big batman fan you may not know some of these villains, to make it pretty simple I’ll tell you the villains real name and what they can do: The Riddler’s real name is Edward Nigma, what he does is he loves to challenge Batman’s intellect and leave deadly puzzles and riddles. The Penguin’s real name is Oswald Cobblepot, he is very violent and he is one of Gotham City’s most feared crime bosses. Catwoman’s real name is Selina Kyle, she is a cat burglar with astonishing acrobatic skills and can steal anything she wants including diamonds, expensive cat statues, and even Batmans own heart, and because of her romance with Batman she often tiptoes the line between good and evil, helping him in a fight one moment, and making off with a priceless jewel the next. Carmine Falcone was once the most powerful crime lords in Gotham, and even after everything the city’s been through, he’s never tried to let go of his power. The Mad Hatter maybe one villain you’ve never really heard of, his real name is Jervis Tetch, he is a short man with a big brain, he has made the most advanced mind control technology in the entire DC universe, he hides the tec in hats and playing cards that say 10/6 which is on the hat of both the Mad Hatter in the Alice in Wonderland book and on Jervis, sometimes he also has an ax and threatens to cut off Batman’s head. Two-Face’s real name is Harvey Dent, he used to be the District Attorney of Gotham City, but after an accident left half of his face scarred, and he has become obsessed with duality and often decides the fate of his victims with a flip of his coin. Firefly’s real name is Garfield Lynns, he has an advanced suit that is flameproof and he carries around two flamethrowers and loves to light things on fire.

The casting for The Batman is Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Ferril as The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and so far it looks like Barry Keoghan might play The Mad Hatter. If you want to get a feel for how this movie will be like, I’d recommend watching “The Batman – DC FanDome Teaser” on Youtube, it is amazing, and to be honest, I think I’ve watched it about 100 times, it’s that good, I saw the Avengers: Endgame trailer like only 10 times, this teaser outdoes the endgame trailer in my opinion. The Batman hits theaters on March 4, 2022, and it looks like it’ll be a theater experience you won’t forget.
