In this Racist Rampage, three people were murdered due to being of a different color. Angela Carr, Anolt Laguerre, and Jerrald Gallion all had their lives taken. On Monday, August 28th, 2023, at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida was where the victims fell. Behind the trigger was Ryan Palmeter, a 21-year-old white male. The man had made it clear he was highly against them because they were colored. He left racist writings and slurs before attacking them. After shooting these victims, he took his life shortly after.

After reading this article, an interview with Hailea and Kaden took place. Kaden stated that  “racism shouldn’t be a subject that is still existent in society”.  No one should die for being a different color, nor should they die because of their culture. Hailea also stated that” if society could be more considerate by providing more education and acceptance towards other cultures” then that could possibly make society safe to participate in. If society could continue to make others feel equal, our environment would feel more prudent and more welcome to others.

Racism is a huge issue in our world today, more than ever. A lot of political issues in today’s society are tied to the fact that racism is still at play. It is believed that people are so quick to judge others. No matter the culture someone’s from, no matter the color someone’s skin is, they are human. People need to have more respect for not only themselves but those around them.
