The Crazy Weather Of Eastern Idaho

The Crazy Weather Of Eastern Idaho

East Idaho has had some pretty crazy weather recently, such as the constant snowing through March. In previous years, snow had already melted around mid-March, and then begun to warm up. So far in 2023, it has remained cold while in March and April of last year it was in the 50-60 degree Fahrenheit range of weather. In these recent weeks of April, the weather of Eastern Idaho has been ranging from a low of 23 to a high of 66 degrees Fahrenheit. In recent years the low temperatures have faded by late February or even early March, but in March this year it continued to snow, and had lows of 20 to highs of 37 degrees Fahrenheit. This year during winter, Idaho had a new record of lowest temperatures where areas hit as low as -38 degrees. The snow and colder weather remains in early April. Although it is beginning to warm up, and the snow is finally melting.

As many may know there are plenty of disadvantages for everyone while the colder weather remains like even just being cold. This can even affect a person’s home. As all of this snow begins to melt it can leak into homes and cause flooding issues. Maybe even leaks being caused from the snow that gathers on roofs. Colder weather can also affect roads by reducing pavement friction, but also vehicle maneuverability. This means that everyone must go slower on roads, but not everyone does which can increase the risk of a crash. Although there may be many downsides to the cold weather there are upsides to it such as cold air boosting brain activity helping people think more clearly. Also, typically the skiing season goes from late November to early April, and the way this weather is going the ski season may have lasted longer this year.

Upcoming weather in Eastern Idaho is starting to look up. In early May it is expected to be upwards of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. It also looks like it may be quite rainy and cloudy with the occasional storm in the next two weeks. The rest of this week is expected to have rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it is also expected to rain over this upcoming weekend. Although it isnĀ“t the bright and sunny weather everyone wants, it is definitely nicer than the snow and hail that has been consistent throughout the East Idaho spring season. While there may be a few days where you could wear the lighter clothing like sandals it may not be such a good idea just yet. Be sure to keep them around because summer is on its way.
