Hi! I’m Ms. Parrett

Hi! I’m Ms. Parrett

Here at Skyline High School, we have interviewed our new drama teacher Ms. Parrett. We have questioned her about her experience at Eagle Rock middle school and how she became a drama teacher.

When we asked her what it was like teaching at Eagle Rock, she said that it was her first and only middle school that she taught at, and she had to adjust to the middle school level. Besides teaching at Eagle Rock, she taught at three other high schools as well. She feels like in high school she can do more challenging content, and produce serious pieces. Ms. Parrett also said she enjoys how the high schoolers show their creativity in all aspects of drama to where she can’t imagine.

When I interviewed her I finally asked her what made her like drama so much that she would teach it. Her story is when she was six years old, she was in her first play. She walked onto the stage and everyone clapped. She really thought that was cool and it gave her a sign. Then she started to go to and star in plays in middle school, then high school. By the time she was a senior, she knew she wanted to teach because there was a great history of teachers in her family. She didn’t know that you can teach drama, so once she found that out she went to a college that was close by to her house. She took the chance and started to study drama, thus a career was born.
