A Nightmare on Elm Street is a movie that follows the story of 4 teenagers who are being terrorized by a spirit known as Freddy Kreuger. It is the first of a nine film franchise, the plot is about a child murderer who was found guilty but got off free because a search warrant was not signed in the right place. The parents of the town burned him and his spirit terrorizes the kids of elm street. The story has four teens : Nancy, Glen, Tina, and Rod. 

The first kill is Tina, as is being thrown around by an unseen monster and dragged up her wall. Rod was in the room, he saw this all and ran. When Nancy and Glen wake up they see Tina dead. With Rod gone the cops decide it was Him and he is put in jail. When Nancy has a run in with Freddy while sleeping in class she wakes herself up by burning herself in her dream, but this burn shows up on her when she wakes up. Nancy then refuses to sleep terrified of seeing Freddy. She takes some pills to help her stay awake, and calls Glen to make sure he wakes her up if he sees her falling asleep. Her and Glen both end up falling asleep. In Nancy’s dream she sees Freddy about to kill Rod, as she’s watching  Freddy sees her and chases her. She runs to her house and is almost caught by Freddy but her alarm goes off. She yells to Glen and realizes Rod is in danger so they both go to the police station but only to find that freddy had hung Rod in his cell to make it look like a suicide. 

Nancy’s mom sends her to a mental hospital where Nancy sees Freddy again, while they are fighting Nancy gets cut but pulls Freddy’s fedora. Nancy’s mom recognizes the name and tells the story of Freddy. Nancy then devises a plan to get Freddy and asks Glen to help her. Glen falls asleep before the plan and is killed by Freddy. The police show up and Decide that Nancy isn’t crazy and her father has a cop watch over her house. She sets traps and decides to go through with the plan herself so she goes to sleep , grabs Freddy and pulls him out of her dream. She runs and Freddy hits all of her traps. He follows her into a basement where she sets him on fire and Freddy runs after her. All while on fire she hides and Freddy goes to her mother and burns her. When the cop runs into the house they see Nancy’s mother burnt to a crisp. Nancy realizes Freddy’s power feeds off fear and shows that she’s not afraid and Freddy evaporates. She walks out of her room onto her porch on a sunny day with her mom and all her friends still there. But with a twist ending her mother is killed again.

This movie was a great movie with amazing filming. And a little bit of humor in parts of the movie It was a solid 8/10 just because it had an unsettling amount of maggots and a confusing ending. Overall the plot was great and I would recommend this movie.
