Max’s Munchies II

As I was doing my usual instagram scroll through, I stumbled upon something that I couldn’t resist: The ad, made by Pizza Hut, showcased a giant cheese-filled Cheese-it. I watched it over and over, watching how the cheese stretched and how the steam rose from the crust. “Alright, you got me. I’ll try it,” I said out loud.

The following day, I ordered the stuffed cheese-it for lunch, and let me tell you, it was not what I expected.

I lifted the box, revealing the four gold-coated cheese-its and bowl of marinara sauce. I grabbed the first one and tore it in half. The first thing I noticed, however, was that it was not crispy at all. If anything it was soggy with grease and actually rather flaky. I took the half piece, dunked it in the sauce, and took my first bite. It was bland, and boring at that. It just tasted like it looked, soggy, cheesy, and flavorless, yet I continued to eat.

While the combination sounded like a good idea, it tasted like cheese melted on microwaved bread. How could this not taste good, you may ask? I wish I could tell you, but one thing is for sure: this massive cheese it is not worth the trouble.

While the pricing was good, sitting at about $8 for 4, it just was not worth the gut full of grease that I could feel in me for the rest of the night. Overall, I would give it a 3/10 for blandness, flakiness, and the amount of grease. Next time, let’s hope Pizza Hut pulls through with something good for once.
