People who own smartphones, mostly teenagers, are addicted to their cell phones. When we use our cellphones in our everyday lives it can cause/increase depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Having a cell phone has caused many car accidents because people are not paying attention to the road and are getting distracted easily. One con is people are using their phones to make payments which is making them lack face-to-face communication skills. One pro is that we can communicate faster.
Statistics show how many people from different age groups died from fatal car accidents. The age group who died mostly from different age groups is 21-34 which has 317 fatal deaths caused by distractions of the phones over the years. Over the years 42,939 people have died in car accidents from being on their phones. Four hundred percent of drivers have spent most of their time without their eyes on the road. Most people who have trained their brain to get distracted by hearing or feeling the vibrations of a cell phone.
In an interview COO of western transport, Adam Hanson who is 38 years said, “As little as possible at least 30 minutes.” the question was how much he used his phone per day. The next question was, are you affected by not having your phone? He said, “Yes, positively I’m happy, I am happy without a phone.” This shows he is affected in a good way by not having his cell phone on him. One last question was, how many times are you worried about what’s on your phone per day? He said, “I’m never worried about who is texting me, I tell people to call me if they need me.” Having a smartphone can be different for any person. Some say having one is good, some say having one is bad it all just depends on who you are talking to.
