I want to discuss the most underrated sandwich out there. But before I do, there is something I am going to declare. The simple fact of the matter is that I hate sandwiches, I don’t know why but I just do. Now, I enjoy the simple PB&J like most people but even then I am picky. It has to be Jif creamy peanut butter with strawberry or raspberry preservatives, NOT JELLY. And before you ask, yes there really is a difference, and yes I really am picky and yes, I sure did yell that out loud in my own head. But getting to the point, as much as I despise sandwiches and all the nasty-sounding combinations, I thought of the suggestion and instantly knew that this would be a failure in my menu. I went to the Fred Meyer off of Yellowstone as I had heard that it was the “go-to” place to get THE turkey club in town. This was no ordinary “a turkey club” but “the best turkey club I have ever had… .” I went and purchased the sandwich, a small bag of chips, and a bottle of Sprite just in case I got hungry after I threw the thing away. I paid $10 total, which wasn’t bad considering the sandwich was about $8 and was a relatively big sandwich. I went home and heated up the sandwich the good old fashioned way, micro radiation. I opened the wrapper and the sandwich smelled and looked visually amazing, I confidently took a bite and it was actually a really good first bite. I found that the sandwich was covered in a light layer of German-style mustard and had what I think was vinaigrette on the tomato and onion. It really brought out the flavor of the sweet onion and crisp tomato while boosting the flavor of the turkey – which was juicy, salty, and fell apart easily when biting into it. So needless to say, I finished the whole thing and had absolutely no regrets. For a relatively cheap sandwich and for how much it filled me up, I was really surprised. It has for sure become, easily, my favorite sandwich of all time and if you would like to try one for yourself, go down to the deli section at Fred Meyer and pick one up for yourself. You will not be disappointed, overall I give it a 10 forks out of 10. (Highly Recommend Them!)
