What to Know: Despite the nuclear warfare tests and intense disapproval from many of the government’s officials, Donald Trump is considering meeting with Kim Jong-un, the Chairman of the Workers’ Party of North Korea. North Korea has also planned a total of six nuclear tests. Additionally, Kim Jong-un has made many threats to the United States like this one from the New York Times: “an anti-terrorist attack will be commenced from this moment to sweep away the intelligence and plot-breeding organizations of the U.S. imperialists and the puppet clique, the most mean and brutal hideous terrorist group in the world,” basically meaning that he is threatening to destroy the CIA.

Why You Should Care: North Korea is easily one of the United States’ biggest threats. Kim Jong-un’s many threats towards the US over the last five years have increasingly gotten worse and worse. It is important for all of us to be aware of the possible impending dispute that could happen in the future, especially if President Trump wants to meet Jong-un any time soon.
