In a competition not quite as well attended as the Emotion Bowl, Skyline Chess Club participants still demonstrated Skyline domination in the first district Chess Tournament last month. Joseph Tyler (11) came in first, followed by Skylar Hernandez (11) in second and Nicholas Winters (9) in third.

“I ended up winning and it was really fun. I got to play chess against  some of the best in Skyline and Idaho Falls,” Tyler said. Why does he like chess? “Everyone is really friendly, we talk to each other. It is really a nice atmosphere, and it is a really go place to be in.”

Students interested in joining the chess club should see Julie Duffield, the adviser, in room 301. Currently, the club meets to play most Tuesdays during lunch in her room.
